When I found I came first place in the junior category, I was astonished. That was just an awesome feeling being up there in front of people I didn’t really know, but I guess they knew me.

I felt great, like I was almost invincible. My whole family was really proud of me.

My grandfather motivates me, so I want to be successful in his eyes. I brought him with me because he’s always supportive, he always wants me to go for new things and try harder and do what I want to do, and do what I love doing, which would be photography.

I make mini movies with my brother, and other things like that. And I just document things I do in the summer time and that’s what I love doing. It’s the best.

I have the capability of almost doing anything, basically, if I try hard enough and… I really try.

After winning that award, and then getting the Governor General’s Award, I kind of went down a new pathway. I’ve touched hearts of other people. I can do photography and I can start documenting things and making short films. I’m able to do that and I have a good talent in that, so I’m going to start striving for to go into the entertainment business. And that’s almost changed my life, I guess.
