The Authors Behind the Winning Stories – 2008

The fourth annual Canadian Aboriginal Writing Challenge was another great year of creative short stories from Aboriginal youth across the country. More than 200 essays were submitted in the 14-18 and 19-29 age categories. The Dominion Institute and project partners would like to thank all the participants and congratulate the top 10 winning authors in each age category.

This year, selected classrooms also participated in the challenge by hosting writing workshops with prominent writers including Drew Hayden Taylor, Jaclyn Guest and Garry Gottfriedson. In addition, two classes at Frontier Collegiate in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba won gift certificates to Chapters for their submissions to the competition.
